Hungry Cooks Branding Commission
SOLO PROJECT - Commission work

Year Created: 2019
Category: Branding and Identity
The previous logo, though it served it’s purpose, was already very dated and wasn’t cohesive. I Incorporated the nostalgic feeling using vintage elements representing the different meat selections in her homecooked dishes. To add a modern touch, I decided to use comic styles for the logo and title.

The Hungry Cooks Branding is a commission work from an already existing concessionaire called Nanay’s La Cocina (translates to mom’s kitchen). The owners wanted a modern image for the brand while still maintaining that homey and reminiscent feeling their products create like stepping into your own mom’s kitchen.
Logo and Design Elements --- The owners wanted a complete rebrand including the name. From Nanay’s La Cocina they changed it to Hungry Cooks to represent the passing on of the management from the mother to her daughter and business partner. The new owners are two women who love to cook and experiment with new dishes using different ingredients. This can be seen in the new logo. For the brand color scheme, the owners and I both agreed on something eye catching but still very much fitting for a food business thus we decided to go for a simple tri-color scheme of brick red, white and black.

Sticker Labels --- Initially, the owners would only sell each dish in one flavor. But as their customer base grew, they found it fitting to expand their menu and add more flavors per dish. I made the mild labels distinctly different from the spicy one for them to easily segregate.
