Seven Stories presents seven projects by Taiwanese-American artist Lee Mingwei. Exploring ideas of trust, intimacy and self-awareness, Lee creates opportunities for intimate encounters through artistic iterations of simple everyday activities.
The exhibition branding developed for Lee Mingwei: Seven Stories draws inspiration from the shape and symbolisms of a river. Here, the river is a metaphor for the boundaries or rifts that exist in human relationships. Lee's artworks allow visitors to participate in active exchanges, which may act as bridges that reconnect these gaps. The river also hints at the fleeting and transformative nature of his installations along the passage of time.
