Theme: Human Indecency

I agree that everyone needs rights and that they should not be taken away based on their religion, sexuality, race, ethnicity, background and any other status. The rights to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of thought and expression, work and education and more are part of human rights.

One of the human rights issues that interest me is the Xinjiang internment camps. Over 3 million Uyghurs, due to their ethnic identity, are being held in concentration camps. Over the past two years about 400 internment camps have been constructed in Xinjiang. A total of 380 detention centres in the country since 2017, from the lowest security reform camps to reinforced "jails". This is a perfect example of going against human rights, driving the Uighurs into these camps, and even brainwashing many of the innocent citizens. In the Guardian article they stated “The report has also found about 70 camps that appear to have had security controls reduced, with internal fences and perimeter walls taken down. Eight may have been decommissioned entirely.” (Graham-Harrison)

My aim for this assignment is to spread the word on this topic, as this is an issue that is not well known to the general public, so I plan to make my design insightful and simple for the majority of people to understand. Knowledge on this subject is the main message that I hope to promote.
