Pigeon Vector Illustration

For this project, I had to convert an original photo I have taken into a vector graphic, using Adobe Illustrator. When I started this project, I began working on a photo of the pier that this bird was sitting on. I got about a quarter of the way through outlining all the details, and I decided that there were way too many fine details to go over. I decided to switch over to this photo of a pigeon that I took on that same pier. I realized there were still several fine details, but not as many as there were in the other photo. I think the hardest part for me while working on this project was the front wing. There were so many different patterns, shapes, sizes, and colors all in that one small area. When I posterized the image, I moved the dial down a little bit more so that it would almost group the shapes. Something that I could have done better was to do something more with the background. I could have brought more of the greens and grays into it, or some of the wood the pigeon was perched on. I managed to capture almost all of the fine details, and this project turned out better than I originally thought it would.
