The assignment was to create a residential unit in extremely cold environments. Form of the house is inspired by the most famous inhabitants of Antarctica - Emperor Penguins. His body was perfectly adapted to these extreme conditions. The benefits of this transformation draws a draft of a housing unit.

Design of a concept is based primarily on the minimum surface area with maximum internal volume. For this intention best serves the spherical shape. In this case  for better interior brightness and orientation to the cardinal ellipsoidal shape was selected. Windows are during the day protected from direct sunlight and snow with shadings elements that can be closed during night by hydraunic system for more stable temperature conditions in the interiors. What is important is protection against the cold radiating from the ground. The house is secured by thick layer of thermal insulation with underfloor heating, which keeps a constant temperature throughout the day. Thanks to a compact shape and black color of a sheet metal surface, the whole building serves as accumulation wall which keeps the heat in the interior at night. In extreme colds serves as an additional source of heat fireplace located in the middle of the unit.
