What do you feel when you hear it?
Bedog Art Festival is a cultural party that is held annually in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. We combine ethnic music with electronics - a way to paint well and is representative of culture and youth. The thing that makes it different is, we added orchestration for the grandeur element, chose low frequencies for a solid image of the song and an attractive sound design.
What do you usually hear about a public service advertisement?
A piece of important basic information.
We understand those things that need to be highlighted. We made atmospheric music in an orchestral format. We adjust it per scene in the advertisement, to support its importance. There are several band formats so that they are representative of young people and gamelan music to represent the local culture.
Dance music accompaniment for Martinus Miroto, a dancer who has become a major figure in Yogyakarta.
Minimalist music but empower the dancers' movements.
We make music that accompanies it but doesn't steal the focus from the dancer.
The background sound with the big band format opens with the beat of a magnificent brass section. Combined with synths and pads as well as a strumming guitar touch that makes this back sound fresh and energetic.
The minimalist piano voice embodies the relaxing atmosphere.
Accompanied with the synth pad and saxophone that creates calming vibes, the music brings a well-presented spa aura.
A spices of ethnical ornaments represent the Balinese tradition with its warm locality and rooted culture.
We call this fusion.
The compositions that we combined are ethnic and modern music. We bring you an atmosphere of deep pounding. It is about the moment of dynamics and the play of sound design. We played it with one instrument that is very precise and constant - a determined beat.
