Animation Project
This was the final outcome of an animation project I completed earlier this year. This was a two week long project where we were tasked with animating a folktale from our own cultural backgrounds. I chose "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter", also known as "The Tale of Princess Kaguya". I made my animation with a mixture of stop motion and digitally drawn animation.

Below is the storyboard and the sketchbook pages documenting the development and processes I went through to build the characters in the short film.
'Print & Co'
This was a 2 week long print-based project, and the outcome was an artist book based on a soundscape I chose from the British Library of Sound. The sound I chose was a seascape with the sounds of waves rushing into a narrow gully. In this book my aim was to portray the sound of the waves and the qualities of water.
'Narrative Flux'
The aim of this project was to create a concertina book with a continuous illustration depicting a narrative. I chose the myth of Persephone. The images were meant to be screen printed but as we were not in studios at the time they were painted instead, with a limit of black and one other colour of my choice. Above is the final image and below are the sketchbook pages documenting my development process. This project was 2 weeks long.
Life Drawings
These were completed in a life drawing class during the autumn of 2019.
These are self-directed life drawings using the website: https://line-of-action.com/
The top image is two 10 minute poses and the bottom a collection of 1 minute poses.
Work from a Series of Short Projects
At the beginning of my foundation year, I completed a series of 2 day projects in workshops that focused on different creative practices and mediums of work. Below are some examples of sketchbook work and outcomes completed in these workshops.
'Paradise Lost'
This project was completed as part of my Fine Arts A-Level. This was based on John Milton’s Paradise Lost with a focus on Satan’s character and journey within the story. The outcome was a handmade book of prints, illustrations and excerpts from the books in Paradise Lost.
