I made a poster about one of the most popular designer of the Bauhaus school, Johannes Itten, to celebrate 100 years of the school.
I used parts from “The colour Sphere” by Philipp Otto Runge (1810) that Johannes Itten uses to explain his colour theory.
The colour-sphere has the pure colours around the equator, starting with the three primary colours of red, yellow and blue. Three mixed colours take their place in each of the equal intermediate spaces between the primaries, while white and black form the sphere’s poles.
By variating size and positions, I created a dynamic pattern as a background and then I placed the text on it.
The text follows the curvature of the spheres and shows some information about Johannes Itten and also the date of Bauhaus centenary.
