Enchanted Forest
Oil, canvas 1m x 1m 2020 -2021
Last year I spent a lot of time walking around the 400-year-old Epping Forest (London).
I decided to keep these feelings on the painting.
The painting is made with oil, using a brush and palette knife on canvas 1m x 1m (40 x 40 in)
The whole work on the painting took 5 months, before each layer was dry.
The picture seems to consist of three parts:
The background is a fabulous forest, made in the style of impressionistic understatement.

You can only guess where the paths lead and what is there around the bend, with the help of the tone and saturation of colours. There are practically no lines.
< >The middle part is a river - you can see this sun light, clear air and water, all reflecting light. And you can get such intense colours and glimmer on the water. The third part is Mr Tree. This is a very old but stunningly beautiful Tree! It knows many secrets and knows how to keep them. Such a majestic, dignified old age, which deserves respect. There is a lot of detail, sharpness and contrast. As well as life itself.
The painting is varnished and ready to be hung on the wall.

I hope you love it as much as I do!
Thanks for watching
