In Contact Sheet

 “In Contact Sheet"

The series begins with the duplicates of genetic codes from sororal twins. The uncontrolled duplication of the same genealogy makes up the identical body cells in order to form two different individuals. However the mechanical process of double exposure could revert the idea of repetition in the framework. This organic process is compared to the morphology of the urban form shaped by neoliberal politics in Panama City, one of the critical late industrial cities. The shots are from vertically transformed city, where the high rise constructions are followed by the same cladding materials constantly. Genetic codes of urban construction represents the same repetition process where concrete slabs are frequently repeated in order to enable the endless duplication of the identical living spaces. Not the finished skyscrapers but the duplicates of construction phase becomes the production for Panamanians who have to live in their urban reality. In contrast to the biological duplication of twin sisters, mass housing of inhuman scale creates an exquisite contact sheet for neoliberal developing cities.
