ADRAS IKATS

Adras Ikats is a collection inspired from the age old traditional craft of Ikat weaving in silk. The collection is given a contemporary look with the use of colours and modification of traditional forms and patterns.
The embroideries are done with multiple shades to give it a textural look. The colours drawn from Adras Ikats are fresh summer colours which are contrasted with bright and rich colours of Ikat through the embroideries.
The fabrics used are a variety of linens, silks and some sheer fabrics, but the original silk sheen is maintained throughout by the use of silk threads for embroidery. The garments are highlighted with traditional Gara embroidery making the collection look more feminine and classic. There is an eclectic mix of silhouettes, from structured jackets to
slender capes and dresses and voluminous shirts.
