Project 1
Image Making Color Illustration
LIGHT FIGHT
The second part to project 1, titled "Image Making Color Illustration”, is based on the same prompt of creating images based on a rhyming pair. The second part required usage of color.
For this rhyming pair, I chose the words light and fight, making light fight. I immediately imagined old lightbulbs such as an Edison bulb in a boxing rink fighting an LED light. Not only are they depicting a physical fight scene, but there is also the narration of old technology vs new. The color scheme I chose was inspired by the "Rock'em Sock'em" boxing toy from my childhood. The poses of the bulbs suggest that it is the beginning of the boxing match, as neither of the bulbs have cracked yet.
This 8" x 8" illustration varies in color, depth, and line weight. Created in ProCreate, the star brush was used to create flashing lights from cameras.
