On the way back to Reykjavik, we stopped in Vík í Mýrdal to get gas.  There was a tourist bus parked next to the gas station and the people were all walking behind the building.  When we looked, there was a path that led us to the most beautiful black sand beach.
After hours of driving, we finally arrived at Skaftafellsjökull, Iceland's largest glacier.
The photo booth exhibit from The National Museum of Iceland.
Þingvellir was one of the most amazing places that we visited.  It is a rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart; you can stand between the plates.
Near Akranes, we viewed the Northern Lights.  We were out until 2 AM and it was -10 degrees Celsius, but it was worth it.
On the way home, we flew over Greenland.  It was the first time I had seen icebergs.  You can see the cracks in the ice.
Near the end of the trip, we visited the Reykjavik Zoo and Family Park.  It was completely empty, so we had the whole place to ourselves.  It was one of my favorite parts of the trip.
