Coalescence was developed during my participation in the Dutch Invertuals Academy 2021, having the theme of True Matter as starting point. I defined True Matter as that which anchors us in our humanity when we’re lost in a sea of chaos, pointing to our essence, to authenticity, and also to the power of our imagination, to the realm of possibilities yet to be discovered. In short, it is a symbol of hope, of reinvention.

I observed that the city landscape around me is made up of an interesting interaction between nature and artificiality, old and new. These material juxtapositions create an atmosphere that is whimsical and engaging, leading me to further explore the potentially positive relationship between nature and artificiality.
