Academy of Fine Arts and Literature
founded in 1975 by Ajeet and Arpana Caur at 4/6,
Siri Fort Institutional Area, New Delhi, is a non-profit organisation.
This is a principal center of literary, art and cultural activities in Delhi.
Besides holding a weekly talk on the philosophy of Gandhi for years
now and series of lectures addressing other intellectual and
academic interests, it organizes monthly meets of poets and
from time to time interactions of artists and art critics, Conference
of SAARC Writers since 1987 exhibitions and free vocational
training programs for girls of low income groups.
It has a free library and reading hall with more than 1000 books,
an exhibition gallery and 3 Museums : Miniatures Museum,
Museum of Tribal & Folk Art, Arpana Caur private collection
with free entry. Arpana Fine Art Gallery which has been in
existence since 25 years is primarily for the young, disabled
and the unknown artists. Our aim is to help them in finding a
dignified place in society and recognition. There are painting,
sculpture and dance classes.
