Tiles chair
It is always challenging to create a complex form out of plywood. Achieving the perfect ergonomic comfort, the surfaces should be double-curved. However, the wood material can only be bent in single-curved shells. My concept was to create double-curved shells by reducing them to non-curved, plain segments. Tile chair is made from a simple raw material that focuses on economical, waste-free production. The frame consists of triangle-profiled slats. The seat and backrest are made of plain plywood board segments. Concealed wood joints provide strength inside the backrest and seat. White paint enhances the fragile, paper-like nature of the lightweight chair. Mild fractures are accentuated by the light and shadow effect.
