Project Background
In the Spring of 2010, I was approached by the pastoral leadership team at Fellowship Church – Forney to develop and maintain a general informational website for the IMPACT My Community service project.
IMPACT My Community is a partnership between Community Life Church and Fellowship Forney.
The idea is to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals and families around the Forney community. Through a variety of projects, the goal is to meet the physical and practical needs of people in the communities served by providing service for the following:
- Minor Home Repairs,
- Painting, and Floors,
- Landscaping and Lawn Services
The goal of the website was to work in 3 main phases.
Phase 1 – Provide information and a gateway for those needing assistance a way to ask for help.
Phase 2 – Provide information for volunteers who are interesting in working on the scheduled service weekend.
Phase 3 – Provide up-to-date project information for volunteers as projects change, weather changes, and to allow for maximum efficient use of the skills and talents of the volunteers and of the materials donated for the projects.

The website was built using basic HTML and JavaScript and was hosted by Fellowship Church. In subsequent years, the decision was made for each partner church to host its own project website and to not have a single common site.
