For this project, the kitchenware tongs, scissors, and a can opener were taken from real life, sketched, simplified, and used to create an informative picture or symbol. The color palette chosen consists of red, orange, blue, green, and white, and black. The red and green I chose are a darker shade of colors, while the blue and orange are lighter in shades. By putting these dark and light together, it pulls the audience’s eyes towards it.

I chose to use the font Baskerville Semibold because it gave a very distinct sharp look. It is also easy to read big or small. There is also a good mixture of thick and thin, which helps to create more contrast.

The placement of the objects with the words were created to seem like the words were the objects for the kitchenware. For example, the scissors were cutting the word cutting. I combined and included the objects into the words and vice versa. This created a comic like look, but was also a great image to recognize at a hardware or kitchen aisle.
