"earning your cheddar as a (mouse) graphic designer"

for me, to be transitioning from a career in cabinetry to a career in graphic design has been a risky endeavor.  i feel that the trap signifies this with the simulated "risk" of opening the book.
but at first i wasnt sure how to make a rat trap work.  i decided to go with a mouse that the viewer follows through his daily life.   the subject of the book was to be "graphic design philosophies".
rather than discussing typography, gestalt, and other design philosophies i decided to take a more generic route and explain how the little newcomer mouse succedes in the graphic design world.  i feel that using a more general life philosophy would appeal to a broader audience because more people will relate.
i put this image in the front of the book sort of as a reminder to myself.   i tend to be the stereotypical introverted artist.
take risks
people who take pride in their work do a better job and grow as artists.  if my name is on something i want it to be done well.
researching always fills my head with meaningful ideas for my projects.
i like to fish
i was having fun drawing this little guy in different scenerios.  i just really wanted a karate mouse in this book
