Redux: For this Redux assignment I tried to focus on kitchen tools. As kitchen tools seemed like a nice way of representing this assignment. I tried to visualize a vision of walking down an Ikea aisle and searching for a certain kitchen appliance like a "wisk" or walking down the wine aisle and looking for a bottle opener. If I was lost I would love to have a visual that would point me in the right direction! I also visualized these posters being hung really high above the aisles in order to catch shoppers' attention! I first began by photographing these appliances that I had lying around in my kitchen drawer. I gave them a nice white background which was surprisingly my desk and I set a table lamp right above them to give them highlights and shadows. After my sketches I moved onto the next step which was to sketch out these appliances using different methods like reductive drawings as well as grid and contour drawings. Below are my best photos that I would use for reference. The next step inquired blacking out my drawings onto photoshop. This step gave me a better understanding on how I would perfect the shape of these tools into Illustrator. Illustrator had helped me make my appliance come alive by being a 2-D object that I drew out with the pen tool! This object/drawing will now be on the future posters that I created. After I revised my Illustrator drawings I then added the drawing onto a poster and I added words/labels and a color scheme. Within this project I learned a lot about Illustrator and how I can make physical objects into 2-D drawings!
