The Last Supper

This artwork is a contemporary digital reinterpretation of the well-known classic painting “The Last Supper”. Its composition is in line with the traditional story; however, the entire scene sits on ruins, suggesting the destructive nature of humankind. It sheds light on the accumulated materialism and greed, which will lead to humanity’s eventual downfall. The work also invites us to question our micro-attitudes and disconnected dialogues as individuals within larger group dynamics.

The piece was created in relation not only to Leonardo da Vinci’s painting, but also to the modern appropriations, notably: Salvador Dali’s “The Sacrament of the Last Supper” (1955) and “Sixty Last Suppers” by Andy Warhol (1986).
