Visual Appeal and Communication

This menu was a week 4 assignment it was a culmination of what was learned from my previous three weeks. I had consider how you can use leading and tracking within the text to create an optimal reading experience. Then apply the basic principles of design (contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity.) I effectively used type hierarchy in demonstrating proper use of leading and kerning within the layout.

The seaside picture was turned into a black and white image using Photoshop and made into a silhouette, which was later brought into InDesign. Since it is a bistro I went into the literal sense and used gradients to show the French flag. Overall the result is fine and I had fun. The type used is what I typically see on diner menus and fits the aesthetic.
