Hyper trends, corporate structures and active lifestyles coexist in rapid motion defining the Millenium City, Gurgaon. Cyber City is a familiar segment displaying a new-age city, defined by flamboyant glass structures reflecting the blue sky, and wide roads with vehicles gliding past. At first glance, the image consists of alluring megastructures, but is represented as merely a screensaver in terms of the live-able cities we aim to achieve.
Patrick Vale and Carlo Stanga served as inspiration to create this illustration, which was also my initial attempt at experimenting with multiple colours to bring out the vibrancy of the urban setting. Contrary to the real image of the city associated with bland blues of corporate and commercial life, the vivid colour palette was a conscious attempt to bring forth the narrative of the 'Screensaver' city.
Display options of this illustration range from home calendars and posters, to restaurants and co-working spaces.
Urban Illustrations also add a lively dynamic to urban public spaces around the city, like the metro station.
My illustration presents my own conceptual perspective of a highly vibrant commercial district in Gurgaon. Do let me know your thoughts on this!
