The Change of Nature Through Stills

The Change of Nature Through Stills
The story is about the effect of human activity on nature versus when no human activity occurs within nature but when animal activity or natural processes happen.

I have captured 7 photos that tell the differences between the natural world and effects of human disregard for nature upon nature. A few from a close by lumber yard, a few in the Northeast Kingdom a location in northern Vermont known for the wilderness.
1. I wanted to start out with a photo of human impact to show the blatant destructive tendencies humans can pursue in the name of greed or necessity. The cutting of forests is destroying ecosystems and biodiversity. Using the rule of thirds to show how the log was not a huge tree. This is also my “close up”

2. I chose to show this photo second to show how animals oppose the destruction of humans only destroying the parts of this otherwise youthful tree to have purposes such as food or housing. My focus it to show the needs of the animal is obtained without outright destruction of the host. I used highlights on the circles to stand them out while not decreasing the light on the rest of the photo.

3. This photo is to illustrate how humans can change landscapes whether on a small scale, such as a measly silo, or large-scale like clear cutting a forest. Instead of finding a pasture already clear cut this individual chose to make a silo in the middle of the mountain range.
4. This is a panorama of an nearly untouched mountain range. A road along the base is all that is touched. The geologic processes occur without human interference. The mountain range untouched is traversed by animals when nature is undisturbed allowed to flourish without hindrances. This photo shows the natural aspect of a mountain range if not changed for human needs or buildings.

5. Deer tracks in the snow are a perfect example of sustaining nature while having the needs of yourself met. No roads no pavement. I understand that humans need roads to transport items with cars and the evolution of travel has become a staple in modern day. Although the natural aspect of a deer crossing and if you werent there for the event it would fade into nothing. This difference shows the impact of humans on the global scale of humans actions.

6. Sun beams perching the clouds show once again the natural process of the world having multiple effects in one image. Clouds deflecting solar radiation back into space cooling the planet. Sun moving through the gaps giving geothermal heat where possible to drive geothermal activity, driving earth's processes.
7. This photo is depicting humans effects on the natural world with a scythe that has been in this exact tree for 30 or so years. The effects of humans on the earth are long lasting and can alter landscapes, the flora, fauna, and case specific issues for generations if not kept in check. The effects are substantially different than if nature takes its course. unchecked human impacts can be long lasting.
Thank you for joining in my story.
