costume design for National theater

This project represents a composition of costume sketches and photos of how it was executed. The sсene was from The National Theatre Brno. (Czech republic)
It took about 6 months of working while more than 100 costumes have been made and 3 performances have been previewed. All sketches are made in Photoshop.
 1. The first one is the design of costumes for the play “Carousel” written by F.Molnar. My choice of this color solution recreates the feeling of main hero’s character as if you are in so-called retro circus with a lot of amusement attractions around. Not only that but also a unique technique you can see where the wings are unfolding unexpectedly for audience as part of design.
 2. The second one is my design of costumes for the play Who's afraid Virginia Woolf? written by A.Elbee where the modern view is implemented. Long-lasting polished fabric has been used to let actors easily slide top down on the Raked Stage.

The third my work is sketch for the play The Seagull written by A. Chekhov. Here is the late-stage solution in costume making. I tried to reveal insights concerning the hero’s characters by using color, silhouette, type of cloth and even small theater stage props.
