Bangladesh has made great strides in a number of areas for the enhancement of child rights such as health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, education, child protection and social protection. The Situation Analysis of Children and Women in Bangladesh aims to capture both these progresses and challenges. In relation to the Government of Bangladesh-UNICEF country programmed of cooperation, the Situation Analysis serves as as a basis for confirming the advancements made so far; identifying persisting and emerging challenges; and planning the future programmed of cooperation based on them. At the same time, I hope that this report also proves to be useful for all those who are interested in the realization of child rights in Bangladesh.
