Currency design concept

Demos is the project of a new currency combining modernist principles and contemporary currency design rules. Inspired by Modernism and its graphical and methodological approach, this work moves between past and present, considering questions about usability, legibility and human interactions.
Demos graphic proposal consists of four different denominations. All banknotes are designed paying attention to principles inspired by modernist vision about human possibilities and the progress of society. At the same time, Demos enlivens this ethics with a more contemporary human touch, enlightening money social role in human relationships and interactions.
All the research behind Demos and its design is explained in a short descriptive booklet. These pages report information about modernist principles, combining them with most recent currency design investigations.
