Faux Taxidermy of Prayer Mantis
The inspiration of this project were fiber artists like Natalia Lubieniecka, and Molly Burgress, who create fiber versions of insects. As an avid lover of insects I wanted to do almost a portrait of some of the most beautiful Prayer Mantis in a fabric medium.

Malaysian Orchid Mantis (I wanted to recreate the shimmer and texture of the Malaysian Orchid Mantis with beaded work. It was a fun process trying to recreate the texture of this one in particular.
Devil's Flower Mantis : Just because of the name I sewed fake flowers into this piece to bring a new layer of texture.
