Our ninth Psychedelic Jelly event was a collaboration with a good friend who runs the Mycelium Marshland events. Our genres of choice have some overlap in style and crowd, so we teamed up to make a bigger event and introduce new genres to the people.

Development of mushroom and cloud style, and progression of concept into drawing into blacklining into painting. Finally, added metallic ink to the mycelial network!

An animation to show the progressive stages of the poster, going through a few iterations once digitised. This doesn't show the final version, though.

I realised that the painting was too colourful for the overlaid writing to be readable! So I reduced it to greyscale and applied a colour gradient instead, thereby making it much easier to read the text on top. Less is more! And this was a good lesson in that awareness - I spent so much time painting the image that I never thought about how the text would appear over the top! 

Regardless, I had a great time doing it and reactivating my dormant skills.

There's so many ideas in my head that I don't know where to start. I often need some kind of impetus, direction, to get me going!
