The Gardener named Gardiner

This piece explores the signature we leave in nature, and how often this differs from the natural landscape that surrounds it. The gardens in Dubbo are lush and full of colour this is in direct contrast to the red dirt and scrubby landscape of Western NSW seen in the farmlands surrounding the city. This was to push the boundaries of what a book could be and how it could be presented, I wanted to see where I could inject engagement into the piece.

To create a sense of contrast between the gardens and the natural landscape I used the signatures to show the garden and the spine of the book is a concertina with a landscape of the natural environment. This spine element also adds engagement and creates interaction.
