This project was created for a kitchenware store called Our Home. The iteration process was focused on items that one can find in the kitchen. The process involved sketching the items, simplifying their form by removing details, lights, and shadows and lastly by using basic shapes to form them and produce an icon.

The shapes that were used in the final result are a mixture of squares, right angled triangles and quarter round shapes. This was ideal as the font chosen for this kitchenware store is Proxima Nova.

The aim was to go for a plainer and more geometric look when using Proxima Nova in bold. The font consists of geometric shapes such as the Os and the As, it also has circular bowls that I found to go well with the icons. Pairing the shapes with words allowed for the exploration of focal points this helped see the emphasis for the name of the store.

Closure and Proximity were some of the principles of perception considered all throughout the iterations. Lastly, color is the last element applied, the mood for this was cool, serious, therefore involving greens and white, purple and a tint of warmth with the orange. The aim of this was simplicity but involving color and shapes that provide some coolness but also pleasantness grouped together.
