Before attending CSUCI I went to Moorpark College to get my AA in art. While attending Moorpark I took a lower level drawing and composition class where we learned how to use different mediums of art. In this specific piece we were learning how to use ink was. The challenge of this assignment was that we were not allowed to do any sketching prior to painting. When creating this piece I had to rely on layers and shadowing to create the image as a whole. Ink wash is a hard but fun medium to use because once you lay it down on the paper you can't erase, so I rely had to learn how to use proper brush strokes in order to give this two-dimensional image and three-dimensional appearance.
