a sprinkle of experimental stopmotion videos

— This course's objective was to introduce students to stopmotion. The students would turn in 2 stopmotion videos as well as their recorded process of the making.

As for me, I chose to approach this task with randomness. This was the start of the pandemic in Vietnam, being at home all day really made me grow a bitter view of this world. That is why I decided to not give this assignment that much of thoughts, with results in me making it as nonsensical as possible, in light of trying to lift off the stress of the newly implemented online schools method.
— the starting point for everyone is the same: pick a book that you like, print a page out of that book and cut each words apart, picking 5 random words at a time. From those sets of 5 random words, each student has to come up with a storyline and simple storyboards. Thí first video is an experimental one, where we got comfortable with the medium.

Below, as you can see, I made 4 storyboards. Normally I would have to pick one and further develop it in the next animation, but since I was striving for the randomness, I decided to cut up these 4 storyboards, pick them out like how i did with the book page at the beginning, and create a new storyboard that's absolutely nonsensical.

(In my opinion, humans would always make sense out of any random things. By cutting off storyboards and jeopardizing that process, I succeed in keeping it the way I wanted.)

Next is an in-between step, this is where we further develop our selected storyboards (the franken-storyboard in my case) and to initially test out ideas that we had for the final video.
— Below is my process this second time. It was not a good process record and I learned a lot from it
thank you for checking out my project, have a nice day!
