Idea: For my idea of impending danger I wanted to do a ghost in a creepy forest. But, so it would look more like impending danger I decided to make my photoshop image to look like a vintage photograph made with one of those old cameras. A lot of times old cameras put a time stamp with a digital clock font and is usually orange. I also thought my image would fit the idea of an old camera if I made it grainy and slightly lower quality by adding some noise to it. The reason I though making my work into a photograph would be "impending" is because in real life stories when people capture a ghost on camera something bad follows.

Materials: I used photoshop so I could use layers and import images. The images I found were off of Unsplash a website to find free images. For this project I had to use a lot of adjustment layers to get the color s right and had to use filters to make the effect of an old photo. Because I was doing a ghost, I also had to change the opacity. Layer masking was necessary for the ghost but for the time stamp I just needed to change the blending mode to lighten. I also dowloaded a smoke brush for a foggy effect.

Processes:First I had to get the main images for my project which were the forest and the ghost. Instead of clone stamping the running person in the forest picture out I just placed the ghost on top and masked out its background. The ghost originally had eye holes so to make it less like a costume I clone stamped them out. Then I added smoke with my smoke brush and slightly masked out the outer edge of the ghost with a soft brush with a low opacity. I didn't want a super sharp edge for the ghost because it is meant to be foggy. I also copy and pasted the ghost and then motion blurred it because I have seen in movies where ghosts will look like that. I also added a skull to the ghost make it scarier and more interesting. I also put a giant skull that is not as visible on the left because I wanted it to look like a type of lens flare. I made sure all the color were dark so it would give off an eerie vibe. Then I put a border around the image but keeping it an imperfect line to make it look like a photograph while I also put the clear overlay for texture of what would the glossy overlay in real life. I added the grainy noise effect by using the filter and changing the setting to clumped grains. Lastly I added the time stamp as a finishing touch but, I had to change the hue so it would be orange instead of white.
