The Peirce School is used for police training and occasional lectures, neither really engaging the community. The school should be renovated to bring the community together and preserve the historic landmark. The building should become an educational facility to promote storm water management control and provide an urban farm. Storm water management is becoming a huge issue in Philadelphia, so having a building for the community to learn about the problem will help in the long run. The urban farm allows the community to receive individual plots to grow fruits and vegetables or buy healthy foods from the market. Combining storm water management and an urban farm will help the community view how capturing rainwater can be used to grow healthy foods, while solving the issue of storm water.
