A RAT AND A HELMET
The last thoughts of a dead soldier:
"I met my own death... at least my helmet saved me from concussion"
The piece was created as a specific tribute to one of the greatest tragedies in human history, The World War 1.
The drawing is dark just like war itself, with gloomy clouds and mud as a leading background.  The rat, which crawls out from a helmet of a dead unknown soldier, is one of the main characters of The Great War.
For me, it shows all the dirtiness and disgust to military actions, which lead to thousands deaths of innocent people.

“A Rat and A Helmet” is just a short title for the piece. The full title reads: “I met my own death. At least my helmet saved me from concussion”, which are sarcastic thoughts of an imaginary soldier, who died on warfare.
The main idea, hidden under these words, is that it does not matter how well-equipped soldiers are, how powerful their weapons are, they, in their most, are anyway condemned to a silly and cruel death; they have dreams and plans for their lives, but one shot may destroy it all.
