Making a band gig poster was a fun exercise for my creativity. I wanted to create something that was my style that still reached out of my comfort zone and that didn't have literal meaning.

SKETCHES
I had a few different ideas when starting this project, but a majority of them involved creating a unique perspective with a guitar. While sketching, I jotted down words that interested me, ideas surrounding those words, and full sketched versions of the poster. I messed with some of these ideas all the way through drafts, but finally decided on the idea in the lower left.

DRAFTS
My draft started with a guitar since I knew that was somewhere in the idea that I wanted to land on. The color and angle of the guitar changed throughout my process, but I was right to start with this aspect of the poster.

I played around with colors a lot because I wanted to go more towards colors that were comfortable for me to work with, but I also wanted to go out of my comfort zone. Yellow is out of my comfort zone when it comes to color and that ended up as a big part of my final.
FINAL

I felt that my final image really met my goals of this project. I made something that was my style, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and didn't have literal meaning.
