Tame Impala Album Cover Redesign

During my time as a student at the New York Institute of Art and Design, I was tasked with an assignment to redesign an album cover. I like the artist Tame Impala, so I decided to redesign the cover for his album "Currents." This design uses a compound color scheme and plays with three-dimensional space. I wanted to create the illusion of a flooded and graffitied indoor space in order to relate to the title of the album as well as the album's themes about transition and the feelings of anxiety, unease, and uncertainty it creates. The design utilizes balance, contrast, movement, and line to create a visually interesting and unifying piece. It was created using various tools in Adobe Photoshop and includes assets created in Adobe Illustrator.
