Brief: Make a design to describe yourself by integrating both typography and illustration. The design must be viable for screen printing.
The designs were digitally cleaned up and coloured. After looking at digitally printed samples, the screen printing process was started.
The sheet is laid onto the emulsion-coated sheet.
It is then exposed and the emulsion is washed off.
A liquid emulsion layer is coated onto the mesh to prevent unwanted space from getting printed. It is then left to dry.
Raw prints without varnishing
Varnished prints
Varnishing is important because it gives the print a thin-protective layer
Gloss ink applied onto the illustration and the print is placed in a UV exposure machine. This gives it a shiny and glossy look
This whole process was made possible thanks to Mr. Vishal Mehta and his team at WoodBlock Imprints.
