Food: illustrated
Somewhere between home-cooked meals and extravagant spreads.
My love for food and culinary art does not limit to the plate. I absolutely love the effort and love put into every ingredient in the process. Cooking goes beyond salt, fat, acid and heat- it's culture. Every kitchen has its own disposition and every meal has a story.
I tried to capture culture and richness through my illustrations.
I started taking a lot of interest in cooking meals from all parts of the world. The idea of making everything from scratch somehow seemed like a beautiful gesture of love. Over the COVID-19 lockdown, I decided to expand my palette along with my family and cook at least one meal a week.
As things started going back to normal and we started normalising the use of restaurant cutlery, home-cooked meals were substituted. In memory of the meals, I collaged all the everything I cooked over the lockdown and made this illustration.
