A project that examined foot traffic in different areas around Evanston, Illinois, based on burst bubble wrap. Each burst bubble was painted over to make more clear.

 

Most of the experience centered around the unique experience of each person who unexpectedly steps onto the bubble wrap and hears the loud "snap." Perhaps the walker was alone on a beach in the morning. Perhaps the walker barely even noticed as he continued his way down a busy classroom hall. It's up to the viewer to think of how this "sound experience" occurred.
