AND YET
TOMBSTONE DESIGN

Inspired by the following haiku by Kobayashi Issa:

This world of dew

is a world of dew

and yet, and yet.

It is impermanence wherein beauty lies.

The resolution of the process above was a form that interacts with its environment. Each day my tombstone will collect dew droplets on its surface reminding visitors of how fleeting life is and how that makes it all the more beautiful. The placement in the desert also makes the water droplets even more precious, each feeling so incredible in such a dry climate.
