G-code Synesthesia

G-code Synesthesia

G-code Synesthesia takes the x, y, and z G-code coordinates (G-code is the code a 3D printer needs in order to print an object) from a 3D scan of my body and turns them into corresponding tones mapped to the frequency range of the human ear. While listening to these tones, one sees a red ball in Rhino corresponding with the coordinate they hear.

This moving image is projected so that the scale of my body matches the one projected.

Projected HD video created using 123D Catch, Rhino v5 with Grasshopper and Firefly plug-ins; Duration: 1hr. 12min.
