Forrest Gump

[BRIEF]
- pick four movie quotes either from one movie or various movies
- create a visual narrative that expresses each quote using only symbols, pictograms, dingbats (ornaments), icons and engravings as your visual vocabulary
- manipulate, alter and deconstruct the found graphic imagery to transcend its original meaning through the creation of the indicated narratives
QUOTE 1 — “you know, the best prize life can offer is working hard at work worth doing.”

[INTERPRETATION]
The focus of this quote is to get busy doing what must be done with no excuses for unpleasant chores; the feeling of satisfaction when you do a job well done.
QUOTE 2 — “blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders.”

[INTERPRETATION]
Memories, good or bad, make up a lot of us. Forgetfulness is a blessing, and ignorance is bliss. If one is unaware of the unpleasantness, one cannot be troubled by it. There will not be an emotional sentiment tied to that memory.

Forgetfulness, in a way, makes for a more light-hearted and simple way to experience life.
QUOTE 3 — “which would be worse — to live as a monster? or to die as a good man?”

[INTERPRETATION]
A matter of choice.

To live as a monster — to regain sanity and accept the guilt for what had happened.
To die as a good man — to continue being delusional about the truth.
QUOTE 4 — “the best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds.”

[INTERPRETATION]
A love that’s passionate, relieving and comforting.
