This project is called Idol Factory, it was inspired by the current state of Chinese  entertainment industry. To make quick money, most of the entertainments companies today are putting out idols like they are products being produced on assembly line. The companies don’t need the idols to possess the ability of being a real star, for example, they fake their singing, they act so badly in movies and dramas. All of these are for earning money from their fans, their targets are mainly teenagers or consumers even younger. I created a long landscape illustration that contained all my opinions about the idol production process. I also extended my illustration into other forms, such as printed merchandise that companies would sell to the fans, and an interactive installation.
