This project documents the creation of a series of narrative textile artworks based upon the life stories of my Indian grandfather. The artworks combine cartoons and Indian Textile surface techniques. The Textile artworks portray past stories of growing up in an Indian society. A reader exploring these narrative textile artworks will be transported back in time to better understand Indian history and culture. The artworks have been created to appeal to children as they target audience and through my grandfather’s life experiences, aims to educate international readers about Indian cultural traditions past and present.
