Concentrating on Mark Twain's journey through Israel, for half of the paintings we used only Mark Twain's picturesque descriptions of The Baniyas, The Sea of Galilee, Jaffa, Jerusalem and The Dead Sea, as a 'visual aid'. The other half we painted from each place in Israel that Mark Twain described as they appear in Israel today.
