While working for the Association for Craft Producers in Nepal, I went on an elephant bathing safari and noticed how the linens, bedding, and textile products in the safari hotel could use sprucing up! I designed this animal motif to be featured in safari hotels and tourism throughout Nepal. The motif was used in the Fall 2012 line of the fair trade store, Dhukuti. Many of the elephant designs that I saw in Nepal were very ornate, so I wanted to bring something modern, simple, and curvy to the mix. The design didn't overlap, so that was one challenge during screen printing. The artisans at Dhukuti helped me actualize my designs into duvet covers, curtains, lawn chair covers, bathroom ceramic products, bibs, baby mobiles, and pillows.
