The main concept here was to show different types of weather through icons that can be used in either weather apps or as emoticons to send through text messages. The objective was simple images that convey the types of weather without being too confusing or have too many parts and pieces.

The sketching process was not an easy one, trying to think of simple icons to draw was interesting! Ultimately I went with images that would complement each other and I also went with many variations of the same thing. I tried to think of different kinds of weather and what comes with those patterns. 

Here are a few of my drafts. The feedback I received was to take the shading away from my icons, and to make them more uniform in color. I made the edges of the umbrella longer and more pointed, I changed the layout of the snowflake to make the ends not touch and the background of the thermometer was changed to be more visible.

Here is how my icon set ended up! There are definitely things to work on still, however, I think the evolution of it all has been great. I think these icons would be great for the objectives of where I want them to end up because they are subtle and they are easy to understand. The colors are also not very distracting and they work well together.
