Colorado Poster
I designed an infographic poster about the state of Colorado.
To begin this project, I researched some interesting facts about the state of Colorado. I sourced 15 facts in total, 10 of which included number figures. I also had to consider what kind of color scheme to use for my poster and I went with a white, teal, and dark teal color scheme to represent the snow-peaked Rocky Mountains Colorado is well known for.

I decided to use a hand-drawn style font called “Active” to capture the down-to-earth, outdoorsy sort of vibe Colorado has, and I also used the sans serif font “Futura” for some of the other text because of it’s simplicity and readability. I used “Futura” for smaller, less important parts of text, and I used “Active” for bits of information I really wanted to POP! All of the text was typed in white to fit in with the poster color scheme.

In terms of organizing text, I grouped certain facts together in a way that would express their relationship to one another. I also divided a lot of information up using lines, spacing, and little hand-drawn graphics relative to their adjacent facts. For example, if you look at the section about the Colorado state flower, you will see a hand-drawn graphic of a set of flowers that not only bring a visual element to the listed fact, but also help separate it from the facts that succeed it.
Thank you to #anthonyboydgraphics for the mock ups.
